  • Issuance and renewal of fitness certificates of commercial vehicles by MVE
  • Implementation of transport fares fixed by Transport Department Government of the Punjab
  • Checking of traffic violations under MVR 1969

History

Transport Department was created in 1987. Earlier, there was a Transport cell in S & GAD and Transport Authority existed at the regional and provincial level. After Devolution in 2001, District Regional Transport Authority was established at district level.
