Functions

• Execution of development schemes through field formation as per approved Annual Development Program (ADP)
• To exercise full control over the budget placed at their disposal for incurring expenditures as per provision of funds

Service

• To supervise all under construction roads
• Keeping in view the changing economic condition, the department has proposed new road projects in Annual Development Program (A.D.P). The department has in-house capabilities of testing of materials, design of pavements, geometric design of roads & bridge design
• Department is responsible to prepare feasibilities for Construction / Rehabilitation / Improvement of roads as per demanded by higher-ups
• Department is adopted the policy for assurance of quantity / quality of work, Resident Engineer / Consultants have been appointed for supervision of such projects
• The department has in-house capabilities of testing of materials, design of pavements, geometric design of roads & bridge design

Service Fee (If Any)

• The department charge fee due to road cut facility on under construction roads for rehabilitation / restoration of the said road and same to be deposited in account of Provincial Government

History

• Punjab Highways Department is responsible to construct the roads and bridges reflected in Annual Development Program (ADP) and Supplementary Grant etc. 
• The Sialkot inherited 332.35 Kms of provincial roads. At present, the Punjab Highways Division, Sialkot is constructing a network of over 35.00 kilometers of roads
